The winner has been chosen!
Just when we thought Santa had hung up his boots for the year, it seems he still has a few more stops to make for some of the Derby House horses.
At Christmas, we asked you to tell us whether your horses had been #NaughtyorNice and what Santa might have in store for our best friends. From tasty treats to tack, we had a brilliant response with the majority of our horses making the nice list (and not a lump of coal in sight).
Fuelled by Christmas leftovers, our judges had their work cut out for them but in the end decided to extend the feeling of good will and chose someone deserving of a new Fair Isle patterned rug from the Derby House Pro range.
Congratulations to Morgan ‘Louise’ Nicholson and her horse Duke. Morgan said,
“A short time ago I was totally devastated when I lost my beloved mare. I have been lucky enough to get a new horse, Duke, but nothing belonging to my mare fits him. Then I lost my job, so clothing him is now a bit of a struggle. My lovely Mum and Dad treated me/him to some lovely Christmas presents – and here he is wearing his new saddlecloth, hi-viz sheet and bonnet, his Xmas hat and his Xmas noseband complete with jungle bells !!!!! Winning a rug for him would be a major bonus, especially as the weather here is really grim. Duke has been such a good boy since I got him, and has helped me enormously to come to terms with losing my mare – so he should definitely be on Santa’s VERY NICE list…”
The spirit of Christmas doesn’t stop there though – our judges couldn’t resist rewarding a further three entries with a £10 Derby House gift voucher each. Congratulations to Josephine Allen and Little Dot, Michelle Ridgwell and Chicco and Mandy Allen and Cara’s pony.
