What’s even better, you don’t have to be a Michelin star chef to make them. Not only will your horse love these healthy, tasty treats, but they make cost effective, unique gifts for your horsey friends too.
We love making these oaty bites and we guarantee your horse will love them too. With just 8 easily accessible ingredients, this simple recipe can be made in under half an hour. Rustle up alone or as a fun activity with children as a rainy day activity.
Homemade oaty bites –
Ingredients
- 2 large carrots (grated)
- 1 apple (grated)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 tbsp molasses or honey
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 80g oats
- 120g flour
- 1 pack of polos (optional)
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C
In a large bowl mix together the carrots, apple, oil, and molasses until combined.
Add the salt, oats and flour and stir until it resembles a sticky, dough-like consistency.
Roll into small 1″ size balls with your hands.
Place them on a lined baking tray and bake for about 20-25 mins until golden brown.
If you are feeling creative, add one polo to the top of your oaty bites and allow to cool.
Store in an airtight container
